One of the most impressive sights in Millares is the Chorrador del Bosque waterfall, popularly known as “the Monster”. It is located in the lower stretch of the Nacimiento Ravine, before the river flows out into the Júcar River. In this stretch, the river, which is fed by the many springs of the Muela de Cortes, falls over 60 metres in a spectacular waterfall. It is accessible by following the Sansón trail: an alternative or secondary diversion on the Nacimiento Ravine Route, that will take you downstream to the nearby Tollo de Jorge pool.
Those who want to visit the “Monster” need to take the Nacimiento Ravine Route, which leads to El Castillet castle, a downhill path -signposted “El Castillet, 850 metres”-, located at the edge of the town on the main road heading towards Bicorp, just before the bend and the last zebra crossing. From that point, you need to go down to the bottom of the ravine, which normally has water on it, and follow its course on the left-hand side. However, this ravine is not the one that supplies “the Monster”, as it receives water from several springs of the Muela de Cortes, from the Nacimiento.
During the route you will pass the Fuente Las Donas spring (a spring that is located next to a fork on the right) and an old mill, the Molino del Señor Pere, as well as a small arched bridge that is almost at the foot of the castle with views over what was once the first power station in Millares. After the bridge, we will see the Molino de los Moros mill and a pine tree that has almost fallen down and, next to it, the start of the descent on the Sansón trail, whose first stage is 20 concrete stairs and, afterwards we follow a path until you reach a stony slope, a place where you must exercise extreme caution as it is a steep scree slope, the path is in better condition than in previous years however difficult its descent may seem.
