On January 17th, the festivity in honor of San Antonio Abad, patron saint of the town of Anna, is celebrated. These are days of intense celebration during which a bonfire of pine branches is lit in the center of the Church Square. On Saturday, there is a blessing of bread and distribution of gifts to the neighborhood, and at night the bonfire is lit so that those who wish can toast themselves on its embers to the sound of music. On Sunday afternoon, there is a blessing of animals and a ‘tirá’ of toys and household items through all the streets of the town, ending the events with the procession in honor of the Saint. It’s a festivity that surprises the visitor and that everyone enjoys.
