The festive calendar of Estubeny begins with the bonfire of San Antonio Abad (January 17) and continues with “la Cassoleta”: an excursion to the countryside with friends on the eve of Palm Sunday to eat a stew and celebrate the end of Lent. The second weekend of June is dedicated to San Onofre, the patron saint of the parish: there is a bonfire to roast meat on the eve, a festival, and a procession the following day.
Finally, the last weekend of August (moved up if the 31st falls on a Sunday) is when the patron saint festivals in honor of the Christ of Good Fortune, the Immaculate Conception, and the Virgin of Sorrows take place, with multiple religious and festive events. Traditional “despertades” are held, during which verses related to the Virgin and the saints are sung through the streets.
