The Black Fountain spring supplies Catalan Gorgo with water. Its stream runs between a lush vegetation making this a welcoming place. Its old washhouse (laundry) reminds about everyday life of the people who lived at the hamlet that bears its name.
Since ancient times this recreational area and its weir has allowed the irrigation of the crops. Long time ago, it was the scene of the Catalineta Festival on November 25th, when the schoolchildren, between songs and games, moved to the place to eat the typical “casoleta”, in addition to being a regular visit on the first day of Easter, to eat the “Mona” (sweet bread).
