Los Chorradores Nature Park (Navarrés)

Departing from Navarrés and heading towards Quesa along the Barcal ravine is the very popular Los Chorradores Municipal Nature Park. It is an oasis where water and lush vegetation predominate. The site entices us to delve into a magical environment of limestone shaped by water where we can connect with nature.

The labyrinthine entrance is formed by a path carved into the rock, that takes us to the poetic “Cave That Rains” housing Fuente Clara spring, to a vantage point and the spectacular Los Chorradores double waterfall, to the swimming area at Azud de la Badina Migas weir, and to the fresh waters of the Fuente de la Higuera recreational area, where we can rest and regain our strength.

Along the ravine, Mediterranean hackberry trees, poplars and fig trees grow forming shaded areas protected from the summer sun, where ivy also grows. Along the watercourse in the ravine there is an abundance of florid oleander shrubs and French tamarisk, alongside a few fruit trees that are survivors from old orchards. With regard to the fauna, numerous animals live in the park or come to drink from its waters: kingfishers, associated with these riverside areas; water rats; insects such as dragonflies and butterflies, and the native river crab, which is an indicator of clean water.

The park can be accessed from the CV-580 heading towards Quesa and has a large car park. If you want to go there on foot, the Escalona-Los Chorradores path connects the municipality of Navarrés with Los Chorradores and with other parks in the municipal area.

Close to this park, and next to the road too, is the Pozo de las Quebradas pool, an authentic outdoor spa with thermal mineral waters rich in iron salts with healing properties for liver conditions and ailments.
